Pedal Forward Georgia
As the founding chapter, Pedal Forward Georgia was created after REI Co-op exited its Experience business, shutting down the bike training programs it used to offer.
It now serves financially underprivileged youth in the North Fulton Community, partnering with Go Georgia, Bike Alpharetta, Safe Routes to School, YMCA Alpharetta, and the City of Roswell to provide bike training events to underserved communities.
The chapter hosts three-hour bike clinics every month. Parents sign their children up at no cost at need-based facilities like North Fulton Community Charities' food pantry and thrift store. Owning a bike or helmet is not required to sign up, as the chapter provides for those unable to bring their own. Returning participants are able to keep their donated bike and helmet.
Pedal Forward Tennessee
Established in August of 2025, Pedal Forward Tennessee is partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Knoxville to create after-school programs for financially underprivileged children to learn to ride bikes and connect with each other at all of the Boys and Girls Clubs' locations.
Pedal Forward will be at Boys and Girls Club locations every week starting in January 2026. There is no need to own a bike or a helmet in order to participate, as Pedal Forward and the Boys and Girls Club will be providing for all in need. All kids will need to do is sign up and show up!
Prospective volunteers can register with the Boys and Girls Club. If you wish to donate, you can do so in person at our events or here, on our website. Our goal is to be able to give kids of all backgrounds life experiences so that they can learn to overcome challenges and make friends. We also aim to be able to gift returning participants the bikes and helmets they learn on.
Pedal Forward new york
New York is the newest chapter of Pedal Forward, established in October of 2025.
It is on track to host its first bike training camp in the spring of 2026 and is currently in the process of finding a venue to hold its clinics, as well as gaining the bikes, helmets, and supplies needed to run its camps.
